The ever-popular Chinese money plant also known as a Pilea peperomioides originates from the nettle family.

The plant grows abundantly in the Chinese province of Yunnan and Sichuan and was brought to the west by Scottish botanist George Forrest. Chinese money plants are very easy to care for, water only when the soil is dry to the touch and keep out of direct sunlight.

It is said that the plant brings good luck and that if you place a coin in its soil it will attract wealth.
